Nothing is more satisfying than serving and giving to people. I happen to work in an industry where I sell kitchen products, but what really gets me up every morning is helping clients solve problems. Making someone’s house a home that they love is a privilege that I get every day.

Dreams are funny things…sometimes they become realities. 10 years ago, Randy and I had a dream of starting our own company. That dream became reality and is known as Straight Line Design. I worked behind the scenes helping that dream grow up until this year. In January of 2018, I decided to retire from teaching (23 years), and I am currently working as the HR/Business Manager. I am enjoying the challenges of this new role. I love all things active. I enjoy working out, fat-tire biking, gardening, hiking, and hanging by the pool. Lisa has spent most of her working career in the world of design. Her extensive experience in the kitchen and bath industry elevates her designs beyond the basics. Jamie has been intrigued with decorating and design from a very young age. She was having home interior parties at the age of twelve. Jamie’s parents allowed her to be creative and re- decorate their home. She continued that passion through college and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Arts with emphasis in Interior Design. She furthered her degree with a certificate in Kitchen and Bath design and found that’s where her passion in design was grounded. Jamie’s favorite part of design is creating a personalized space where her clients can feel at peace; a place where they can truly be themselves. Jamie loves to throw parties and be around her family and friends. She loves to plan activities and never has a dull moment in life. Jamie’s hobbies include: gardening, crafts, softball, and working out at Fit body. She also volunteers at church where she has served as a deacon for seven years. As the daughter of a builder, and an artist at heart, I have always approached challenges from a technical vantage point with a creative twist. My ability to visualize in 3 dimension and interpret the taste and personality of my clients makes kitchen and bath design the logical profession. Although I started out with an emphasis on Architectural Design, I found that my schooling and strengths pushed me in the direction of kitchen and bathroom design. I found that I can put my talents of working with people, architectural design, and aesthetics to good use. FUN FACT: When not working, you’ll see me running after my two young boys, photographing them and all of their surroundings. As a professional photographer, I love to photograph all of my projects, as well as people and landscapes. I have a passion for macro photography, and find so much of my inspiration in the details of nature. I grew up in the country so I love to be doing anything outdoors, traveling, hiking, gardening, and going to the beach. I also have this crazy obsession with Lions football. Paige developed a passion for design at an early age; she was intrigued watching her grandpa, who was a builder, and often shadowed his work. Rearranging décor in her parents’ home led to her interest in furniture placement and material selection. She values all aspects of design and specifically creating spaces inspired by the environment. Her designs are influenced by the client’s style and character. As a designer, Paige works passionately to form a beautiful atmosphere for her clients. When she is not in the office, you can find her relaxing on the beach with a glass of wine or taking long walks in the woods. She has a love for animals and her buddy Roscoe the Yorkie. I have an uncanny ability to visualize a space and it’s potential. I have the talent and tools to show you, through illustration, what I’m proposing. I have been involved in art and architecture from a very young age, attending classes at the University of Illinois throughout grade school. I am an NCIDQ certified interior designer with a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have been practicing design for over 20 years, and I have several projects featured on HOUZZ.com. I’ve recently illustrated a children’s book, and I’m working on a second. My husband, Bryan and I live in downtown Holland with our two “Coton” pups and enjoy extended visits from our two grown children, Scott and Molly. I’ve been told there’s sawdust in my blood. I think it’s inherited. I remember as a small child, hanging out with my grandfather in his garage. He was a fabulous cabinet maker for Sligh Furniture in Holland and had turned his garage into a woodshop. Most Saturdays, the neighborhood men would join the two of us in his “man cave“ to shoot the breeze and watch as Gramps would turn pieces of old wood or furniture into beautiful works of art for a friend or family member. With glue and dowels, he would make the pieces fit together perfectly, as if that’s how they were always intended to be. I found it fascinating. I think it’s because of him that I have this perspective. It’s now how I look at most things. Brad spent his early years flipping houses before he made the decision to get his Builder’s License. Even after 20 + years in the industry, Brad still loves the construction business. He spent the majority of his building career doing remodels. Recently he found a new passion doing sales and consulting in the hardwood flooring world. As time passed, he branched out to all flooring product sales. Brad enjoys working with builders, as well as helping homeowners picking out the best material for their project. His vast knowledge of construction and flooring make him a valuable asset to the Straight Line Design Team. In his free time, Brad loves to hunt, fish, and spend time with his wife and 2 children. Creative, Reliable, and Optimistic are the three words I would best use to describe myself. From an early age, interior design was what I strived towards for my career. I grew up in a household full of engineers and desired to be different. The passion I have for design formed from seeing the stories behind the design. Graduating from Spring Lake High School in 2014, I enrolled in Muskegon’s Baker College interior design program. Being diverse with technology, such as 2020 and AutoCAD, is an important part of design, but I never underestimate the power of hand drawing. I find joy in the simplest of things, whether it’s boating with my dad, baking with my grandma, or spending time with my friends. There is no situation that a smile and a positive outlook can’t fix. I try to live my life with a smile on my face and work hard with a positive attitude daily. My life revolves around my love for family, animals, athletics, and art. I attended Calvin College to pursue Kinesiology and Sports Management while being apart of the Calvin Swim and Dive team all four years. I love marketing, because it gives me a creative outlet. My goal for Straight Line Design is to create the most visually appealing, unique online marketing presence that will spark the interest of all our current and future clients. Working as the Marketing Coordinator challenges my creativity daily to produce online content that resonates with all styles. When I am not at work, my favorite pastimes involve watching football and Detroit Pistons basketball with my husband, walking our Great Dane, coaching swimming, and enjoying downhill skiing during our beautiful Michigan winters.
